Empires of the Undergrowth is an engaging ant colony management game that combines elements of fast-paced real-time strategy. As the player, you will delve into the depths of the earth, constructing intricate tunnels and chambers to store food and nurture your brood. On the surface, your ants will assert their dominance by claiming territory, gathering resources, confronting formidable arachnids, and engaging in conflicts with rival colonies. Victory hinges on strategic nest design, army size, composition, and well-timed attacks. Throughout your journey, you will be accompanied by a documentary filmmaker who provides insightful commentary on the colony’s activities and the surrounding undergrowth. In the early access version, the primary game mode is Formicarium. Here, you assume control of a unique DNA-harvesting ant colony, striving to assimilate advantageous traits from rival colonies. By undertaking various missions, both with your home colony and other ant species, you can upgrade and enhance your ants’ capabilities.

- From here, choose your preferred platform and select ‘Download Here’ to begin.
- Once Empires of the Undergrowth is finished, right click on the .zip (or .rar & .iso) file and select ‘Extract to Empires of the Undergrowth’. To extract files use 7-Zip, which you can get from software.
- Open the Empires of the Undergrowth folder and run the application to start the game.
- Enjoy! Don’t forget to run the game as administrator as it helps prevents crashes and errors. Remember to support the developers if you enjoy the game.
